Speaking

The building blocks behind effective speaking or presentations:

Composition

During this stage, you use your knowledge of the audience to develop a topic and then a plot, around which you can build a story. H. M. Boettinger's excellent Moving Mountains has an interesting section on this subject.

Design

During this stage, you define the visual and other aids that you will use during your speaking engagement. Good resources on this topic are Presentation Zen and Slide:ology.

Delivery

The way you deliver a talk will determine at least in part whether you connect with your audience and whether your central message is conveyed and the audience is persuaded.

Resources

Examples of good speaking or presentation abound on the Internet. Here are a few that I found especially good.
